Shahrukh Is A Huge Draw In Singapore

A time difference of two and a half hours between India and Singapore, coupled with a sleepless-night-flight makes for a groggy combo. I am in Singapore for the IIFA Weekend. Me and cameraman Tahir Shaikh got our accreditation done at Swissotel The Stamford. Later we went to Little India, a locality in the heart of Singapore that makes you feel at home. We spoke to a few locals and it is clear that Shahrukh Khan is a big favourite out here. A Bangladeshi guy praised Salman. He has watched Bodyguard online and since then Salman is his favourite Indian hero.

Apart from Shahid, Priyanka, Farhan, Bipasha, Sonakshi etc, Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan may make an appearance as guests of IIFA, but they won't be performing. The locals are disappointed that Shahrukh Khan will not be coming for IIFA. He was here for IIFA in 2004. The locals in Singapore are very friendly. Everything is very prim-n-proper. The roads are wide and superbly pothole-less. There is no traffic congestion and if you are used to mad traffic jams, it seems like a child's play to wait for a couple of minutes at the signals. The food is not of our liking. I guess we will have to rely on bread and butter from tomorrow as dashing off to Little India won't be that easy as we will be occupied with non stop work. So much for now. I hope we will have a good time in Singapore and hopefully we shall get some good stories. Till later folks...

  2. Awww, sorry you don't like the food! Despite the work, I hope you're gonna have a fun time! Say hi to Shahid for me! LOL

I can understand the local's disappointment about SRK. I'm crossing my fingers Hrithik will show up.

Thank you for updating us, really looking forward to watching all the footage!
