Live Webcast Of 'Ready' Premiere In Dubai On Bollywood Hungama

Bollywood On My Mind (May 31, 2011)

These are exciting days for Bollywood. IPL is over, lots of big ticket movies lined up and the stakes are really high. Well, to start off with, lemme share this info: We at Bollywood Hungama are doing the live webcast of the Dubai Premiere of 'Ready' on Wednesday June 1. There will be a press conference in the afternoon and then the premiere in the evening. We are also doing the live webcast of Salman's concert in Bombay on June 2. There are four press shows lined up for 'Ready' this thursday. Its quite an unprecedented event in itself. Lets wait and watch as to how the media reacts to the film.

Here's the link where you can see the Live Webcast of 'Ready' Premiere in Dubai

http://www.bollywoodhungama.com/livetv/ready/index.html

A friend of mine saw the first look promo of Rohit Shetty's 'Singham' recently. He says, its mindblowing and worth whistles and claps. My friend told me that Ajay Devgn is looking very different from what he has ever done before. In fact, there's a deluge of promos that will be showcased with 'Ready'. You guys have to watch out for the theatrical trailer of 'Delhi Belly'. Aamir has showed it to the media and its one of the most irreverent and quirkiest promos that I've seen in a long time. Shit Happens...and how!

Shahrukh Khan will be unveiling the theatrical trailer of 'Ra.one' at a Bombay multiplex today. We wanted to do the live webcast of this event but the theatre doesn't have a wi fi facility and the chances of internet connectivity via data card is less too. Shahrukh unveiling the theatrical of his much talked about film right before Salman's big release post 'Dabangg'...is it a mere coincidence or is the game meant to gauge as to who will become the bigger talking point of the week?

Several star birthdays coming up in June. We wanted to celebrate the birthday of an actress who on her debut last year delivered one of the biggest hits of all times. Her publicity team says that the actress would like to have a quiet birthday. Hmmmm...

Haan Yaad Hai (A Song On My Dad's 75th Birthday)

Here's a song written by me and my wife Aarefa on my dad's 75th birthday. I have composed and sung it while my friend Savio Vora has done the music arrangements and also played the guitar. Hope you like it:

Baarish toofan mein kandhe par bitha kar hotel tak jaana yaad hai
Vo khaana khilaana, hasna hasaana, khisse sunaana yaad hai

Filmon ki baatein ho ya shayri, khwabon ki duniya haqiqat nahin
Common sense is something uncommon, kaha tha kabhi...yaad hai

Vo saadi si khushi, vo aadhi si hasi, nasihat pyaar ki bas kami izhaar ki
Khamoshi ki dhun, sannatein len sun, hulchul ka sukoon, beniyaz hai junoon

Lamba ho safar chahe mushkil dagar
Saath hain jab hum sab to kaahe ka dar
Zindagi ki lazzatein kam nahin, tum dhoondo to sahi

Ek aas hai, kuch khaas hai, ahsaas hai

Baarish toofaan mein kandhe par bitha kar hotel tak jaana yaad hai
Vo khaana khilana, hasna hasaana, khisse sunana yaad hai

Ek aas hai, kuch khaas hai, ahsaas hai...

Haan yaad hai...

Salman Khan To Act In Farah Khan's Next Directorial Venture?

Interviewing Farah Khan is always good fun. She was at Film City shooting for the dance show Just Dance. And once she starts talking, you know that its gonna be an entertaining show. This was the story that came out today morning where Choreographer Ganesh Hegde lashed out at Farah for allegedly spreading rumours that she was earlier supposed to choreograph a song in Ra.one which is now being done by him. Hegde raises questions on Farah's credibility as a Choreographer. When I posed the question to her, she said that Ganesh should see a doctor. She did not want to dignify Hegde's verbal assault

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/bollywood/news-interviews/Ganesh-Hegde-lashes-out-at-Farah-Khan/articleshow/8483757.cms

Farah also spoke about her present relationship with Shahrukh and how they met during Apsara and Filmfare Awards. She also took the entire blame for Tees Maar Khan's non performance. As she talked about Shirin Farhad where she is playing the main lead as an actress opposite Boman Irani, it was obvious that she was happiest while talking about this venture. She also spoke on the tiff she had with Sanjay Leela Bhansali (during the release of OSO and Saawariya) who's now the Producer of Shirin Farhad. So, can we see Salman Khan starring in her next directorial venture? What does she have to say about her TV shows Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega and Just Dance? Don't miss Farah Khan's Bollywood Hungama Exclusive coming on Monday May 23.

Live Webcast Of Salman's Concert

Bollywood On My Mind (May 20, 2011)

Ragini MMS is a spooky film that sends a chill down your spine. The setting is realistic and the performances are good. Both Raj Kumar Yadav as the devious boyfriend and naive Kainaaz Motivala have delivered spirited performances. The background music is very effective and keeps you on the edge. Director Pawan Kriplani has been ignored because of the entire controversy surrounding Ekta Kapoor and the original Ragini. It is unfortunate that one doesn't event know how Kriplani looks like. He is a talent to watch out for.

Stanley Ka Dabba is not your regular film desperate to attract attention anyhow. It has a laidback pace and for most parts nothing really happens in the film till you reach the climax and get hit by the unpredictable ruthlessness of life. Amole Gupte is in superb form as writer, director and actor. Yes, the film has its loose ends but they are worth overlooking in the over all context of the film. Gupte's son Partho is a natural actor and a wonderful find.

Pyaar Ka Punchnaama is a funny recipe on how women make tamed poodles out of bindaas men but the excessive length and the melodramatic last half an hour dents the effervescence of the film. It is the answer to last decade's Dil Chahta Hai. The dialogues are witty and very relatable but the silly mush spoils the fun. The young starcast has delivered credible performances especially Divyendu who plays Liquid. It caters to a niche audience but watchable for sure.

At the press conference to announce 'Ready' concert on June 2, Salman was in a boisterous mood. According to Zoheb, Khan had fun at the expense of music director Pritam and didn't even excuse the media as he gave tongue in cheek answers to their queries. We are planning to do a live webcast of this concert. Will confirm soon if we finally go ahead with it.

Winking Sweat

As I walk
Through the jungle,
Scared, and yet,
Awestruck,
The eyes
Stay glued
To the
uneven road ahead.

I find solace
In the bird song,
Cautious of
The rustling leaves,
Anticipating eeriness.

There's dust on the leaves
Or is it a disease;
Thirsty faces
Pledging honesty;
Sweat, winks coquetishly,
Unseen blood, flows...

Hrithik Roots For Shahrukh Khan

Official Press Release

Hrithik Roshan made a rare appearance at the Kolkatta IPL match on saturday. In fact it was the first time the actor was actually watching a match. In fact the previous night Hrithik shot till 4 am for Agneepath and the next morning he had had requested the producers of a commercial to keep an early morning shoot of 6am so that he could fly out in time from Mumbai. He had not slept a wink but he flew down specially to wish Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri luck.

Says Hrithik, "It was my first ever experience of watching a live match in india. The excitement was palpable! I was here to cheer for gauri! So was under tremendous pressure cause I promised her we'd win if I came! Izzat bach gayi, truly glad that it turned out a happy day!

"There is no denying that Hrithik was the lucky mascot for the Khan that evening. Perhaps now we will see him at some more matches of the Knightriders!

Justin Beiber; Family Reunion; 'Ready' Exclusive

Teen sensation Justin Beiber is a super talent. I barely knew about him except for having heard a few of his songs off-n-on. During my short trip to Dubai (May 5-7, 2011), I saw a documentary 'Justin Beiber-Never Say Never' during the flight to-n-fro. This teenager is a phenomenal talent, has a mind-boggling following, is stylish to the core and is mature way beyond his years. The documentary is simply fantastic and showcases what went into making Beiber a craze, the significant role played by the wonderful behind-the-scenes team that gets the Act together and how people-perception supersedes the vulnerability of the human being cloaked within the Star.

Dubai trip was extremely satisfying. I had gone there with my dad to pass on all the info to my elder brother and sister about my dad's health. As I've blogged earlier, my dad suffered a Stroke on April 9. Thankfully it was a minor Stroke and with everyone's good wishes his recovery has been satisfying. It was a short visit but a nice way for the family to get together. Wish Ammi was there too but since my parents separated many years ago, it wasn't meant to be. Children always want their parents to be together. There must be valid reasons why a couple break-up. It must be hard for both the parties. But the children, howsoever practical and sensible they might be, would always want to see their parents being with each other. Especially in the old age, because, maybe, that's when they can understand each other's requirements and feelings, the most.

I am back in Bombay and the work is flowing. We are doing something exclusive for Salman Khan's 'Ready' (No its not Salman's interview that many of you have been eagerly awaiting that I am talkin about here). Just discussed the concept with our creative producer. This content will be entertaining. A Bollywood Hungama Exclusive. Coming soon!

"Yes, I am doing Kabir Khan's film": Salman Khan (Opp Katrina)

http://www.bollywoodhungama.com/features/2011/05/03/7401/index.html

"I don't want to wear red underwear outside to be a Super Man, I just want to be Sal-Man," Salman Khan famously said at the music launch of Ready recently. In a Bollywood Hungama Exclusive Video Interview, Khan put the record straight once-n-for-all by saying, "Ya I am doing Kabir Khan's film." Is it a super hero film? "No, it is not a super hero film. It is a hero's film," Salman said. On being asked if Katrina Kaif is paired with him in Kabir Khan's film, Salman nodded in affirmation.

Promos of Khan's forthcoming film Ready have been creating waves and the film is one of the most eagerly awaited movies post the IPL. Salman has been personally taking keen interest in ensuring that the film is high on the entertainment quotient. In fact, two songs, 'Character Dheela' and 'Dhinka Chika' have been re-shot because he wasn't happy with what was shot in Bangkok. Is this streak of perfection, courtesy friend Aamir? "Yaar, mere saath thodi not perfect cheezein chalti hain. Aamir ke saath perfect cheezein chalti hain. For me it's never the perfect thing, it's more spontaneous. I heard the audio, I saw the visual, and I thought the visual didn't match up. There's no strategy. I just wanted the song to be slightly better and we got that," Salman said.

So, when does Salman plan to get married? What's his equation with Sanjay Leela Bhansali? Will he be part of Bajira Mastani? What does he have to say about the fake 'Being Human' T-shirts flocking the market? Did he really have differences with Anees Bazmee? All this, and much more in Salman Khan's Bollywood Hungama exclusive video interview... Coming soon!

"I'm Not Doing Any Super Hero Film": Salman Khan

Bollywood On My Mind (May 2, 2011)

"I'm not doing any superhero film," said Salman Khan in his Bollywood Hungama exclusive video interview with me a short while ago. Khan wore a black shirt and jeans as he sat outside his vanity van in Whistling Woods in Film City. Before Salman, I spoke to Asin and it was a fun interview.

Interviewing Khan is always an experience. There's an element of unpredictability and you know that there are some subjects he isn't comfortable talking about while some things are close to his heart and bring on a smile. I've taken my chances in this interview and got some good responses from Khan. And yes, at the level of info, there's a breaking news in my interview for which the fans will have to wait. All I can say, is that its BIG news.

When I told Salman about the abundance of kids wearing fake Being Human t shirts, he was obviously upset and urged his fans to wear only the original t shirts so as to support the noble cause that he has been pursuing sincerely. There's a lot of info that the fans will be interested in and I wouldn't spoil the fun by telling anything more in this blogpost. I am damn good with creating curiosity :) But I really hope that we get one more chance with Salman before the release of Ready so that we could do a more detailed interview.

Asin was as vivacious as ever. She spoke on the rumour of the alleged marriage with Salman, pranks played by Khan, is she wearing a swimsuit in Housefull 2?, music of Ready, why she isn't happy with the final outcome of London Dreams and lots more.

An on location of Double Dhamaal is taking place in Mumbai tomorrow where the entire star cast will be present.

I've been listening to the music of Luv Ka The End. Its a fantastic music album. All the tracks are superb. Be it the title track, FUN Fun Funaa sung by Ali Zafar, soft and seductive Tonight, the massy The Mutton Song and Freak Out, this album composed by Ram Sampat is a winner all the way. Bubble gum pop at its best. Check out the first part of the interview with the lead pair Shraddha Kapoor and Taaha Shah
